Today on World’s Mother’s Day, Everyone will talk about Mothers and women, but I want to talk about the very less talked about topic in India:
Men’s Emotional Health in India.
The biggest issue for Men in India with Emotional Health is that Society does not accept it. Our Indian Society never feels that Man can be having any emotional problems. They believe that emotions are always associated with Women. But the mental pressure that men are facing is tough to tolerate. The pressure to stand on the foot, to run a family, etc. It is true that improving emotional health can be complex and involve many different factors. However, here are some general tips that men can follow to help improve their emotional health:
Recognize and acknowledge your emotions: Many men have been socialized to suppress or see them as a sign of weakness. However, it’s essential to recognize and acknowledge your emotions, even if they are uncomfortable or difficult to deal with. This is the first thing to understand because one needs to understand his weaknesses before undergoing any work over it.
Find healthy ways to express your emotions: Once you’ve acknowledged your emotions, find healthy ways to express them. This could be through talking to a trusted friend or therapist, writing in a journal, or engaging in a creative outlet like painting or music. In India, the best part to do is to do a journal, because if you will write your issues then you can work on them by yourself only.
Prioritize self-care: Self-care is essential for emotional health. This could involve getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and engaging in activities that bring you joy. Moreover, if you will have a healthy lifestyle, then you can never have an emotional imbalance.
Build and maintain strong relationships: Having solid relationships with friends, family, and romantic partners can provide support and belonging that can improve emotional health. One thing anyone can do is to maintain a healthy relationship with friends, family, or near ones so that one can talk and discuss all issues with them. This one system can help anyone to get out of the issue.
Seek professional help if needed: If you’re struggling with emotional health issues that feel overwhelming or unmanageable, it’s important to seek professional help from a therapist or mental health professional. They can help you develop coping strategies and work through difficult emotions in a safe and supportive environment. One needs to follow all the instructions given by the therapist or Healthcare professional.
Remember that improving emotional health is an ongoing process and requires consistent effort and self-reflection. Be patient with yourself and seek support when you need it.
